You have connected to the
Cyberspace HQ®
Software Update Server

This server is strictly for the purpose of delivering software updates to
Cyberspace HQ customers and customers of Cyberspace HQ OEM partners.

Software updates are not available by connecting to this server with a web browser. They can only be
downloaded through our automated updates within the software title that is checking for updates.

Note to customers experiencing update difficulties:

If you have been asked by Cyberspace HQ or a Cyberspace HQ OEM partner to connect to
this site with a web browser, it was to determine if you were able to connect to our update
server from your location. If you are reading this, the answer to that question is YES, meaning that
any problems getting updates are related to a connection or system configuration issue with your
computer or network.

If you continue to have problems obtaining updates, please follow the guidelines below:

Resolving update connection problems:

1) Identify the file name of the program that is not connecting to the internet.

  • If it is the program itself that is connecting to the internet to perform its normal function, it will be the product’s filename. Example: ‘AddWeb7.exe’
  • If it is a product update that will not connect to download, then it is probably the updater program that will have a name like ‘My Application Update 2.0.0.18.exe’

2) If you have a firewall, go into your firewall configuration and:

  • REMOVE any entries for the program.
  • Save the setting and start the program again. Your firewall should detect a new application trying to access the internet and prompt you to Permit or Deny access.
  • Permit access to the internet and restart the application.
Sometimes firewall programs that permit or restrict programs from accessing the internet don't update themselves properly when a new program is detected.

3) If it is still not working after Step 2...

Make sure you are NOT running other firewalls on your system. Remember that Windows XP Service Pack 2 has a built-in firewall, and remember programs like ‘Norton Internet Security’ do not necessarily have the word ‘firewall’ in the name, but they do have firewalls in them.

4) If it is still not working after Step 3...

Disable your firewall(s) and try updating. If this solves the problem, go back up to step 1 and try again, as your firewall simply isn't letting the program connect to the internet. If this does not solve the problem, meaning that disabling any and all firewalls on your system doesn't fix the problem, continue to step 5 below.

5) If it is still not working after Step 4...

You may be connecting to the internet through a proxy server. Most people that connect through a proxy server are not aware they are doing so. One way you can check is by doing the following:

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Choose Tools | Internet Options.
  3. Select the ‘Connections’ tab
  4. Click the ‘Advanced Settings’ button.

A window will appear titled ‘Local Area Network (LAN) Settings. In the bottom box, you will see if a proxy server is being used. If so, try to disable it and see if the problem resolves. If this does not resolve the problem, note the Address and Port in this section and look for Proxy options in the program you are having trouble with, then enter those settings in there. **Note** If you are using our Anonymous Surfing product, make sure Anonymous Browsing is turned OFF.

6) If it is still not working after Step 5...

There may be a communication problem between your location and our servers. It is possible that you are able to reach this site with a web browser, but a connection problem causes our program to time out. To check this, do the following:

  1. Click on the Start Button and select the ‘Run’ option.
  2. A window titled ‘Run’ will open.
  3. Enter CMD
  4. Hit your ENTER button.
  5. A new window with a command prompt should now open.
  6. Type the following line followed by ENTER:
  7. PING updates.cyberspacehq.com

You should see several lines that look like this:

Reply from 216.55.166.158 bytes=32 time=68ms TTL=47

Note the number after time=. In the example above the number is 68ms. This means it took 68 milliseconds for your computer to reach our update server. This is an average number. If you see numbers in the high hundreds (or more), or you see asterisks instead of numbers there, you have an internet connection problem, or there is a connection problem somewhere between your ISP and our server. Unfortunately, this is beyond our control. It may get better by itself after a few hours (or days). If not, you should contact your internet provider and tell them about the problem.

If the connection time is fairly low, and you still have not resolved the problem, chances are you have missed something in the above steps. Another possibility is that you may have some form of Spyware or a virus on your computer that is preventing the program from accessing the internet. Note that some spyware programs will automatically set up a proxy for your internet connection so that they control your traffic flow.
